A quirky feature about Miami’s street naming is that addresses switch at Central and Main. On the north side of Central, even addresses are on the east sides of the streets. On the south of Central, odd addresses are on the east. On the east of Main, the north sides of streets contain odd addresses, on the west of Main, even numbers on the north side.
Additionally, N Ninth Street was once known as Broadway. And it’s now known as BJ Tunnell Road. NW 12th became Goodrich Boulevard. And SE D has recently received an honorary rename of Tinker Owens Boulevard, although it’s an unofficial name change. The same happened in 2018 with Circle Drive receiving an honorary rename of Gaines Drive, in honor of Steve and Cassie.
